Earth is becoming warmer, glaciers are melting, water is becoming scarcer and local weather conditions are changing fundamentally. We have to respond to new environments in a very close future. One proposal is that as we are doing now we only have 30 more years of survival unless something is done. Today we use 1,3 Earths while we only have one as a resource.
Earth is becoming warmer, glaciers are melting, water is becoming scarcer and local weather conditions are changing fundamentally. Respose to new environments is a fundamental survival element in the coming decades and developers (designers, artists, architects etc) are fundamental in this work. How to respond to new conditions is becoming the creative task for survival. Dealing with living conditions and responding to new avenues of existence. This field has become ever more important and changes are occurring fundamentally in design education. Has developed slowly over the past decades but since 2005 the presentation of the Al Gore film (An Inconvenient Truth) this development and issues have become more prominent in development work, in design and architectural institutes. It has been developing slowly but today issues are becoming more current. Students of design are less interested in creating new unneccesary objects and images for superfluous needs of the affluent classes and they focus more and more on human and environmental issues that need response.
